[Model/Name] Model 381-Series
These limited express trains feature a pendulum system to improve curve negociation. Aluminum alloy construction is used and all equipment except for the pantograph is located under the car floor to create a lightweight body with a low center of gravity.
The 381-Series is used as the "Kuroshio" on the Kisei Line and as the "Yakumo" on the Hakubi Line. The KURO 380 is a 381-Series train remodeled to provide a front car with a panorama-view lounge, creating the "Super Kuroshio" and "Super Yakumo".
